The external works at the Mayville are now underway to start to put the south garden back together. The garden will be used for community food growing projects, host fruit trees, birds and bees, and provide valuable accessible outdoor space for the building.
This external space was previously inaccessible from the building but now forms an integral part of the project with the ground and basement floors opening out into the garden. The community garden will compliment the passivhaus refurbishment works and the green roofs to illustrate how important a part of the project improving local ecology is. The grass also brings to life the render colours used on the external insulation system.
